| Amphitheater The City of New York/Parks & Recreation has issued a Request for Proposals for construction of a new Amphitheater at the Park. Private developers have submitted proposals, and Parks is close to making a conditional designation to move forward. RISF anticipates that by 2005 an Amphitheater will be constructed just adjacent to the Track & Field Center Complex, overlooking the river. The facility will host major concerts, festivals and cultural events, and will bring excitement and vitality to the area as well as considerable revenue toward maintenance of the Park's fields and open spaces. |
